Role Overview
As a Lawyer (Housing Management) at Hyde, you will provide housing management advice and litigation services.
Responsibilities
This role primarily involves providing housing management advice and handling litigation in areas such as:
- ASB possession claims
- Unauthorised subletting claims and tenancy fraud possession claims
- Unauthorised occupier possession claims, including failed successors, former licensees, squatters
- Complex or defended rent arrears possession claims
- Other complex multi-ground possession claims
- Leasehold disputes and service charge recovery
- General advisory work on housing management and related issues, including hoarding, mental health, and social care issues
- ASB injunctions and contempt applications
You will be part of an in-house team with supportive colleagues who will offer guidance and encouragement.
Skills and Experience
- Must hold a valid Practising Certificate.
- Be a Solicitor admitted to the roll of solicitors in England and Wales, or a Barrister, or a Fellow of ILEX (eligible to be called a Legal Executive).
- Minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience in housing management cases similar to those outlined above.
- Experience managing own caseload and working within billing and time recording targets.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with a strong command of English.
- High commercial awareness and adaptability to changing business needs.
- Ability to work under pressure, handling a high volume of cases against tight deadlines, with a focus on delivery.
- Excellent drafting skills and legal acumen.
- Flexibility to meet organizational needs and deadlines.
- A collaborative, team-oriented approach, with willingness to coach and support colleagues.
