Role Purpose:

The Junior Test Analyst role contributes to the quality assurance of software products, specifically our savers.co.uk websites, mobile apps, and our loyalty systems. An individual in this team will assist in the testing process validating that our new digital features create great experiences for our customers.

A typical day in this role includes:

The Junior Test Analyst will work in the Online Selling Digital Delivery team reporting into the Senior Test Lead. They will work with Business Analysts to understand the new features that are being delivered and then execute on test scripts that have been previously prepared. The Junior Test Analyst is responsible for following test scripts to validate that software changes are working as designed. Where the software is not working as expected, the Junior Test Analyst is responsible for capturing the detail of the bug in order that it can be replicated. You will be expected to communicate the bugs, when found, to the development team and provide guidance in retesting/ articulating the issue and then retesting any code fixes. You will be responsible for learning how data flows through the website and associated systems in order to validate data accuracy when testing.

What you’ll need:
This is where you’ll capture critical experiences, knowledge, or qualifications, however, avoid being too specific or too detailed. A good cultural fit can easily compensate for missing skills, knowledge, or experience. Use broad terms such as:

  • Experience in software testing is an advantage including User Experience Testing
  • A Technology-related education or credentials is preferred but not mandatory
  • Experience in detail-oriented tasks
  • Knowledge of the software development lifecycle is preferred but not mandatory
  • Experience in retail or the hospitality industry is useful
  • eCommerce experience
