About the Role

We are looking for a Jewellery Designer who will be responsible for designing commercial jewellery ranges that increase Domino's market share and will take the designs from initial concept to market-ready. The suitable candidate should have a good knowledge of jewellery manufacturing processes and production techniques. We seek someone who manages their own time effectively and can work efficiently with internal and external colleagues and suppliers.

Role Responsibilities

  • Carry out market, competitor, and trend research to identify current and future jewellery trends, including city visits and social media platforms.
  • Use this information to identify gaps in and opportunities for Domino ranges.
  • Create project range plans outlining product categories, quantities, and key price points for approval by the Creative Director.
  • Create mood boards and collate inspirational imagery to inform new design concepts.
  • Create clear designs of product proposals for approval with the Creative Director.
  • Work with in-house and overseas CAD teams to realize initial designs into 3D models ready for approval and sampling.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing/suppliers to make necessary design alterations ensuring repeat, efficient, and economical manufacturing.

Qualifications & Education

  • Ability to design to scale, supporting understanding of aesthetics, key measurements, gram weights, carat weights, and total product costs.
  • Knowledge of jewellery manufacturing processes and production techniques.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint.
  • Advantageous but not essential: Bench trained.

Note: Monthly city/exhibition visits are required to stay current with trends and UK micro trends (usually not overnight). Overseas travel to international jewellery exhibitions (including Europe and the Far East) will be required (overnight stays).

  • Location: Birmingham (3-8 Vyse Street, Hockley, Birmingham, B18 6LT)
  • Salary: Negotiable / depends on experience
  • Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week, 08:00 am - 16:00 pm.
