Job Description:

A well-known media company located in Canary Wharf is looking for a talented Press Officer with broad communications experience to join their team in an interim capacity. The successful candidate will be paid 31K pro rata for an initial 3-month contract.

Responsibilities:

• Write and distribute press releases
• Act as the first point of contact for national, local, and trade press queries
• Collaborate with senior staff across various departments, advising on media-related issues
• Build and maintain positive relationships with journalists across media outlets
• Manage digital channels including the company website and intranet, creating engaging stories
• Prepare for crisis communication and produce effective messages when needed

Requirements:

• Proven experience working within a busy press team
• Strong writing skills with experience creating content for diverse audiences and platforms
• Experience working proactively and reactively with journalists
• Confidence in engaging with senior stakeholders
• Experience editing content for web and other digital platforms (preferable)
