Job Description

UKIFS Ltd. is seeking an experienced Patent Attorney to lead on intellectual property matters for the STEP programme, which is focused on developing pioneering technologies in the fusion industry. The role involves advising on IP strategy, managing IP portfolios, patent drafting and prosecution, and supporting IP commercialization efforts.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise technologists and engineers on IP issues and ensure alignment with IP strategy.
• Identify, protect, and manage IP generated by the STEP technology stream.
• Perform landscape and risk analyses, and communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Draft, prosecute, and manage patent applications and IP records.
• Support IP commercialization and produce reports on IP portfolio growth and value.
• Develop and deliver IP training for technical teams.

Qualifications

Essential:

• Patent Attorney qualification in the UK and/or Europe with PQE.
• Experience advising clients on IP matters, invention capture, and patent prosecution.
• Strong background in scientific or engineering disciplines.

Desirable:

• Experience managing IP in industry settings, including risk assessments and freedom to operate analysis.
