First Military Recruitment are currently seeking an Imports & Exports Manager on behalf of one of our clients. Our client provides the luxury goods industry, high-net worth individuals, and international banks with a global team of experts, including logistics, security, customs house, and special operations professionals. Our client provides a smooth, expedient, and professional service tailored to precise specifications and needs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage the end-to-end import and export process, including documentation, customs clearance, transportation, and delivery.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant import and export regulations, including customs laws, trade agreements, and sanctions.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customs authorities, carriers, freight forwarders, and other stakeholders.
- Lead and motivate the Import and Export team, including the Import Supervisor, Export Supervisor and Operations Agents.
- Provide guidance, training, and support to team members to ensure high performance and productivity.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding import and export shipments.
- Address client inquiries, concerns, and requests in a professional and timely manner.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction and loyalty.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in import/export operations management, preferably in the freight forwarding or logistics industry.
- Strong knowledge of customs regulations, international trade compliance, and logistics principles.
- Professional and positive attitude.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in logistics software and systems.
- Knowledge of CDS and Customer knowledge is essential.
- Leadership and team management experience, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborative working style.
- Able to work on own initiative.
Location: Hounslow/Nr Heathrow
Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 per annum
Working Hours: Monday – Friday (9am – 17:30pm)
