This is an opportunity to be part of a fast-growing, dynamic, and collaborative culture with a diverse team of HR deals professionals. They work alongside deal execution teams on large-scale, global integrations, separations, and joint ventures across various sectors including Financial Services, Healthcare, Real Estate, Consumer, Industrial, Technology, Media, Telecommunications, and Business Services. The team develops solutions to client issues, focusing on the financial benefits or risks from a people perspective.

They advise on all aspects of HR and change management during deals, from HR due diligence to deal execution. Their focus areas include:

  1. Employee experience: Shaping strategies and executing engagement programs, often using a digital engagement platform to retain key talent and protect deal value.
  2. Organizational Design: Designing organization structures, people strategies, and operating models to drive synergies and value during integrations, carve-outs, or joint ventures, while managing talent risks and retention strategies.
  3. Labour relations and compliance: Managing HR risks and obligations globally to meet deal timelines and planned changes, with strong experience in workforce transition.
  4. HR operations: Integrating HR functions, including systems, processes, and payroll setup for deals.

The team culture emphasizes collaboration, openness, and high performance. Associate Directors are expected to lead teams to deliver in these areas.

Responsibilities

Client delivery:

  • Advise and deliver on complex I&S deals involving multiple teams.
  • Prepare and deliver HR M&A programs and due diligence.
  • Support strategy development, organizational design, and employee transitions related to acquisitions, divestitures, and other transactions.
  • Produce high-quality reports and documentation, including HR due diligence and transitional service agreements.
  • Provide insights and recommendations, lead client meetings, and manage relationships with C-level executives.
  • Utilize I&S and Deal Advisory technology to enhance project delivery.

Wider team:

  • Collaborate across teams to pursue and secure deal opportunities.
  • Contribute to the growth of the HR M&A business.
  • Drive digital innovation and develop new propositions.
  • Manage engagement scopes, budgets, resources, and deliverables.
  • Support proposition development, business development, and proposal preparation.
  • Model behaviors aligned with KPMG values and culture.

Experience & Skills

Candidates should have experience in consulting or industry, especially in HR, Organization Design, or Strategy in an M&A context, including:

  • HR due diligence (buy-side and sell-side)
  • Planning and executing integrations and separations
  • HR Operations and transitional services
  • Deep expertise in areas like operating models, talent retention, cultural shaping, workforce transitions, HR systems, and labour relations
  • Understanding of the deal lifecycle and HR’s role within it
  • Team leadership and project management experience
  • Experience with HR outsourcing and supplier management
  • Comfort with ambiguity and high-pressure environments
  • European language skills are a plus
