Are you someone who can start a conversation in an empty room? One of those people who always manages to get things done, no matter how much there is to do? If the answer is yes, there’s a place in our Customer Service team for you.

It’s not about what you know. It’s who you are. As a Hire Desk Clerk, you’ll be doing one of the most important jobs in our business: looking after our customers. This involves building relationships, understanding their needs, and helping them do their jobs better.

In this role, you will work in the customer contact centre, dealing with major customers, and be responsible for delivering excellent service while using your product knowledge to maximize upselling opportunities. Your days will involve communicating with customers via phone, email, and website requests. You will manage inbound and outbound calls to regional customers from one of our customer offices.

You’ll handle orders from enquiry to post-hire feedback, taking ownership of the customer journey and building relationships with regular customers. Additionally, you will manage daily deliveries and collections within the depot. You should be an excellent coordinator, enjoy planning and organizing, and thrive in a busy but friendly team environment.

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Proven experience in customer service or transport roles
  • Exceptional communication skills, including negotiating and influencing, with the ability to build relationships with internal and external customers
  • The ability to use your judgment and initiative to make decisions aligned with company policies and pricing structures
  • Strong teamwork skills with a supportive, collaborative approach
  • A flexible and adaptable attitude to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and targets in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high accuracy
  • A commitment to continuous improvement, proactively suggesting and implementing process enhancements
  • Good computer literacy in MS Office and enthusiasm for learning new IT systems and technologies
