Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the ongoing development of the UK tax function, including hiring as needed, ensuring robust tax systems and controls.
  • Maintain and enhance procedures and controls to comply with SOX provisions.
  • Manage direct tax compliance obligations, including Lloyd’s and US GAAP tax reporting.
  • Identify and manage tax automation initiatives.
  • Assess, document, and manage uncertain tax positions and related risks associated with UK operations.
  • Advise on tax implications of potential acquisitions, disposals, expansion, and similar projects.
  • Monitor and interpret UK and international tax developments relevant to UK operations.
  • Design and lead implementation of restructuring projects as required.
  • Participate in or lead cross-functional projects involving Tax, Legal, and Regulatory teams.
  • Manage transfer pricing and DPT related to UK operations.
  • Develop and update tax policies, including ESG-related tax policies.
  • Manage relationships with tax authorities and handle dispute resolution.
  • Proactively communicate with key stakeholders, including the UK CFO, Global Head of Tax, and external advisors.

Qualifications

  • Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA) or equivalent qualification.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field from an accredited university.

Experience

  • Minimum five years of international tax experience in industry or public accounting.
  • UK tax experience is essential; international tax experience is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of tax reporting under U.S. GAAP and/or IFRS is preferred.
