About the Job

As Head of School, Law, Criminology and Criminal Justice, you will provide inspirational academic leadership, strategic direction and exceptional operational management for a newly formed School within the Faculty of Business and Law.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Oversight of the School’s programme portfolio; maintaining high academic standards, reviewing and developing new courses and curricula to meet market needs.
  • Ensuring delivery of exemplary student learning experiences which generate academic achievement, student satisfaction and successful graduate outcomes.
  • Ensuring the effective performance of the School’s academic teams through building a culture of employee engagement, aspiration, trust and well-being.
  • Facilitating and supporting research and knowledge exchange outputs to contribute to the School’s reputation and profile.

  • You are an inclusive, effective academic leader with a track record of performance, credibility and authority in leading teams to success.
  • You are a strategic thinker who uses an evidence base to inform and achieve your objectives / KPIs.
  • You have a developed understanding of quality assurance and enhancement and how these contribute to maintaining high standards and continuous improvement.

  • You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating sensitivity to, and understanding of, differing needs among the stakeholders you work with.

Qualifications

  • Level 7 qualification or equivalent professional qualification or experience, aligning with subjects in the School or Faculty.
  • Registration with a relevant regulatory or professional body.
  • Professional recognition as HEA Fellow (D2) or teaching qualification recognised by HESA, or willingness to obtain within an agreed timescale.
