Group Risk Officer

Our client, a prominent leader in the insurance industry, is seeking a highly capable Group Risk Officer to join their dedicated Risk Department. This is a permanent position located in their corporate offices.

Role and Responsibilities

  1. Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive enterprise risk management (ERM) policies and processes across the organization.
  2. Advise senior management on potential risks to the enterprise, including strategic, operational, financial, and reputational risks.
  3. Monitor and report on risk exposure and make recommendations to mitigate possible threats before they impact business operations.
  4. Establish and quantify the organization’s ‘risk appetite’ and ensure risk approach adheres accordingly.
  5. Maintain and update the supporting risk management policies and procedures so that they remain consistent with the evolution of the organization’s processes and regulatory requirements including, but not limited to, those relating to Solvency II.

Key Skills

  1. Proven expertise in Enterprise Risk Management within the insurance sector.
  2. 2 to 4 years’ experience in commercial (re)insurance in the Bermuda and/or London markets gained either from a Risk Management background.
  3. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  4. Strong leadership skills with the ability to drive change across departmental and organizational levels.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the capability to engage and influence senior executives and stakeholders.
  6. Strategic thinker with an ability to create and preserve a robust risk management framework.
