Role overview

The Group Procurement Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies across our group of companies. They will manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure the efficient and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. They will collaborate across all departments to optimise procurement practices. The procurement team is small, newly formed, and the right candidate will work on projects across all sectors sourcing both direct and indirect goods and services.

Key tasks

Key Responsibilities:

  • Procurement Strategy and Category Management: Support the development and execution of a comprehensive procurement strategy aligned with organisational goals. Drive category management plans to enable delivery and execution.
  • Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on performance, cost, quality, ESG, and reliability. Maintain strong relationships and manage performance to ensure on-time delivery and quality standards.
  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate contracts to secure favourable terms, including pricing, payment, and delivery.
  • Cost Control: Implement cost-saving initiatives, monitor expenses, and identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising quality.
  • Procurement Process Improvement: Continuously improve procurement workflows for efficiency, transparency, and compliance.
  • Supplier onboarding: Lead and project manage the onboarding of new suppliers to ensure savings and performance improvements.
  • Budget Management: Develop and oversee the procurement budget, ensuring expenditures align with financial objectives.
  • Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities comply with laws, regulations, and policies. Maintain accurate records.
  • Supplier Diversity: Promote diversity and inclusion by engaging with diverse suppliers.
  • Market Analysis: Stay informed on industry trends, market conditions, and emerging technologies.
  • Risk Management: Identify supply chain risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure business continuity.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present procurement reports, KPIs, and performance metrics to senior management.
