Geotechnical Engineer x 3

Binnies, an RSK Company, geotechnical team continues to grow due to continued successes in tendering. As we enter the next water regulatory period (AMP8), we will be providing geotechnical input for the vast majority of UK water companies, building critical infrastructure with a particular focus on storm spill reduction. This is alongside our other frameworks including supporting the Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales, and the Canals and River Trust.

As part of this growth, we are offering our clients more advanced geotechnical services and taking on more complex designs, including temporary works. This gives all our staff an exciting opportunity to learn new skills and be involved in the new direction and expansion of our services. As many schemes are design and build, it also allows us to see our designs brought to life and actually constructed.

The Engineer roles are critical to our growth, as you will be the ‘doers’, providing those engineering designs we need to fulfill our growth ambitions.

About the Role

Key duties would include:

• Design of a diverse range of geotechnical engineering solutions
• Design and supervision of ground investigations
• Collation and interpretation of the results of ground investigations
• Preparation of sections and drawings illustrating geological conditions
• Site visits
• The role is suitable for candidates with a Masters degree – Civil engineering or geotechnical engineering are preferred.
• You should be actively working towards Chartership with the ICE or IMMM.
• As short-term site visits are a key part of the role, a full UK driving license is required.

You should possess and be able to demonstrate the following qualifications, skills, and knowledge:

• Ability to work remotely
• Experience of working in multi-disciplinary teams of internal professionals, and third-party asset owners, stakeholders, technical officers, and contractors
• Proactive and methodical approach to problem-solving as an individual and as part of a team with a desire to find a solution
• Demonstrable success in designing, planning, and organizing tasks
• A passion for engineering
