RSK Geosciences is recruiting for a Geotechnical Engineer to join the team based in Coventry. This is a full-time, permanent position. The Geosciences team provides consultancy and design services to a range of external clients including engineers, house-builders, oil companies, and local authorities. Responsibilities:
- Completing and managing geotechnical projects from cradle to grave including desk studies and ground investigation phases, through to the production of interpretive reports, planning & design advice, detailed design and specification, works supervision, and verification.
- Design, supervision, and management of ground investigation and construction works.
- Earthworks materials assessment, design, specification, supervision, and verification.
- Preparing desk study, Coal Mining Risk Assessments, ground investigation reports and associated documents and/or geotechnical design reports (PSSR, GIR/GDR/GFR), earthworks specifications, etc.
Qualification and Experience:
- Required: BSc degree or equivalent qualification in Geology, Engineering Geology, Applied Geology, Mining Geology, Soil Mechanics, and Geotechnics or a related subject.
- Desirable: MSc or postgraduate diploma in Engineering Geology / Applied Geology / Mining Geology / Geotechnical Engineering or Soil/Rock Mechanics (but not essential for all roles).
- Desirable: working toward Chartered Geologist, Scientist, or Engineer with a relevant professional body.
- Required: 2 – 7 years’ experience within the industry as a Consultant or Ground Investigation practitioner.
- Required: Full UK Driving Licence.
