Genetics Specialist, Translational Genomics and Precision Medicine

Job Description: We are seeking a self-driven scientist to join our interdisciplinary team. The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in human genetics, statistical genetics, bioinformatics, or related fields, with several years of relevant industry or postdoctoral experience. Key qualifications include: Experience with high-performance computing and cloud environments (preferred) Strong interest and experience in AI and machine learning applied to genomics data Familiarity with genomics databases (e.g., UK Biobank, All of Us, Genomics England, gnomAD, TOPmed), with hands-on experience preferred Deep knowledge of genetics and genomics, with a focus on AI applications Proven research record through publications or conference presentations Proficiency in programming languages like R or Python for large dataset analysis Ability to communicate complex scientific insights effectively Preferred skills include experience with population stratification, Mendelian randomization, polygenic risk scores, and multi-omics data analysis, as well as biomarker discovery. Ideal candidates will have a strong team ethic, attention to detail, and thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment. A keen interest in applying genomics and AI skills to drug development is essential. About the Department: You will be part of the Translational Genomics and Precision Medicine Department within the Human Genetics CoE. Our focus is on leveraging data science and human genetics to identify new drug targets and biomarkers, using approaches like genetic discovery screens, Mendelian randomization, and precision medicine, targeting diseases such as type 2 diabetes, kidney disease, CVD, NASH, obesity, and rare disorders. The CoE is based in the Digital Science & Innovation (DSI) organization at Novo Nordisk, supporting digital transformation across R&D.
