Activision, the publisher of the hit Call of Duty franchise, is looking for a passionate Cloud Security Engineer to join our Cloud Security function, supporting Activision, Blizzard, King, and Microsoft Gaming partners.

Are you highly interested in Cyber security and raising the security bar? Do you enjoy working across the company on unique solutions for a variety of areas related to Gaming? If so, the Gaming Security team would like to talk to you.

Our team supports the services, platform, and studios that make up the Gaming business. In addition, we work with other Security teams within the company to ensure that we have the right tools and services to protect these key businesses.

We are looking for a candidate to help us engineer and deliver solutions that help secure our business by partnering and engaging with engineering teams to improve our security posture.

The successful candidate will have a passion for security, committed collaboration skills, technical depth, coupled with the ability to bring others together in developing common solutions. Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Build and automate cloud security guardrails and validation processes to ensure resilient, scalable, and secure cloud architectures for Gaming businesses.
  • Deliver and support high-quality distributed services and infrastructures to enhance security for our Gaming businesses.
  • Partner with Activision, Blizzard, King, Microsoft Gaming, and Microsoft Security, and other stakeholders to ensure ongoing alignment, manage dependencies, and achieve shared objectives.
  • Support and enhance our Cloud Security program through automation, tooling, systems, and controls in partnership with Gaming Security and other partners.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of industry best practices, technologies, architectures, and emerging trends, applying this knowledge to our products and services.
  • Perform hands-on configuration activities in areas such as Identity & Access Management, Threat Detection, and Incident Response.
  • Implement process improvements and identify gaps in workflows, designing solutions to enhance efficiency through automation and scalability.
  • Provide technical Cloud Security Architecture guidance to studios and business teams.

Player Profile

  • 3+ years of experience in software development lifecycle, large-scale computing, modeling, cyber security, anomaly detection, Security Operations Center (SOC) detection, threat analytics, security incident and event management (SIEM), information technology (IT), and operations incident response
  • OR Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field
  • 1+ years of experience with GCP
  • Experience deploying Infrastructure as Code (IaC) in public cloud environments.
  • Experience with one or more programming languages (PowerShell, Python, Bash, SQL, YAML, JSON).
  • Experience in creating and maintaining technical documentation.
  • Experience working alongside technical project management, following project management methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in software development lifecycle, large-scale computing, modeling, cyber security, and anomaly detection
  • OR Masters Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field
  • CISSP, CISA, CISM, SANS, GCIA, GCIH, OSCP, and/or Security+ certification
  • 3+ years of experience with GCP
  • 1+ years of experience with AWS and Azure
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages, including PowerShell, Python, Bash, SQL, YAML, and JSON.
  • Proficiency in creating and maintaining technical documentation.
  • Experience with GCP Security Command Center
  • Experience with Cloud Native Security Tools or CNAPP platforms
  • Experience with deploying cloud security guardrails and controls
  • Experience with Agile workflows
  • Understanding of the Software development ecosystem; from inception to delivery
  • Certification as a Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer
  • Certification with one or more of the following: Microsoft Azure Security Engineer or AWS Certified Security Specialty
  • Proven track record of improving reliability, availability, and performance of cloud services.
  • Experience developing and maintaining large scale distributed systems.
  • Experience coaching and mentoring others.
