We are seeking a Fractional CFO to join our expanding FinOps team. You will manage a portfolio of clients mainly in London and the South East, delivering our Smart Finance Function and Data Analytics solutions, along with other propositions supporting clients in sectors like Tech, SaaS, and e-commerce.
Your responsibilities include developing new business opportunities through existing and new networks, approaching prospective clients, and expanding our client base.
What you’ll be doing
- Act as the senior and ultimate relationship owner for your client portfolio.
- Provide one-off consulting solutions to non-portfolio clients, such as systems implementations, investor readiness, and forecasting.
- Conduct client meetings with senior staff and participate in Board meetings, offering insights and analysis on business matters.
- Discuss broader business issues and strategic management with clients.
- Support clients with cash flow, business planning, and monitoring.
- Design and build finance and non-finance systems, working with data structures.
- Streamline processes for new clients, leveraging technology and best practices.
- Lead the design of data analytics dashboards for clients.
- Oversee and support managers with training and development.
- Review and coach junior team members, including activities like period-end closes and technical accounting questions.
- Handle technical accounting queries.
- Liaise with clients to develop strong working relationships.
- Report internally and provide regular updates on client deliverables.
- Develop a pipeline of opportunities and target new clients.
- Drive sector or proposition-specific initiatives.
Who we’re looking for
Candidates must have:
- An accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent.
- At least 10 years of relevant post-qualification experience.
- Extensive experience with bookkeeping, management accounts, consolidations, and finance processes.
- Strong relationship-building skills with key decision-makers.
- Experience managing multiple stakeholders, including senior clients.
- Excellent project management and multitasking abilities.
- Proficiency in Excel and data analytics tools.
- Experience with cloud accounting systems like Xero.
- Attention to detail, quality review, and time management skills.
- A proactive approach to questioning and improving quality and processes.
