About Our Client

An organisation within Central Government.

As an interim Financial Reporting & Tax Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing the year-end accounting close process and coordinating the preparation of annual statutory accounts and supporting notes, ensuring completion within agreed timelines.
  • Overseeing and processing central year-end accounting adjustments, including pension valuations, subsidiary valuations, depreciation, and other relevant entries.
  • Preparing and filing VAT returns with HMRC, ensuring full compliance with UK tax regulations, including quarterly VAT filings and local income tax on expatriates.
  • Supporting the Financial Controller in developing tax strategies, managing tax compliance risks, and ensuring appropriate tax governance in all countries where the department operates.

The candidate should hold a full accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA) along with working knowledge of UK VAT legislation. Experience in leading statutory account filings and a strong understanding of central government finance guidelines are essential. This is an interim role requiring availability on short notice, with a start date within 2 weeks from interview.
