The successful candidate will take the reigns of a small finance department and be hands-on with the day-to-day accounting. Our client is a logistics business looking to continue their growth and future proof to ensure sustained success.

What you’ll be doing:
- Manage the finance department, ensuring the team have clear objectives and guidance to enable success
- Design, review and maintain policies and procedures
- Budgeting & forecasting
- Play pivotal role in implementing new accounting/finance system
- Active involvement in strategic planning for the business across areas including tax, risk and market analysis
What we need from you:
- Previous experience in all aspects of mainstream accounting functions. You will need to be a fully qualified accountant, ideally with experience in a senior role
- Proven managerial experience – you will inherit an existing team that will need leadership and guidance
- Experience with Finance/Accounting systems is advantageous
- Understanding and experience of working in SME businesses would be desirable
