Job Type: Permanent – Senior Leadership Band 1

Location: Hybrid (Edinburgh, Wythall or Telford)

Flexible working: All of our roles are open to part-time, job-share and other types of flexibility. We will discuss what is important to you and balancing this with business requirements during the recruitment process.

Salary and benefits: £90,000 - £120,000 plus an indicative bonus range of 30%-60%, private medical cover, 38 days annual leave, excellent pension, 12x salary life assurance, career breaks, income protection, 3x volunteering days and much more.

The role: We have an exciting brand-new role at Phoenix Group for a Finance Enterprise Architect. This is a brilliant opportunity to drive change and help shape and mould the future of Phoenix’s Finance organisation. As a strategic leader, you will bridge the business strategy, develop operational plans to drive change to ensure the Finance team at Phoenix can meet our regulatory requirements and provide value and support to our business teams driving growth and benefits for our customers. As a senior leader in Finance Data Systems and Change, you will create a structured view of the business architecture, bringing clarity to all levels of the organisation whilst championing controls, data governance, and the removal of process debt. Your knowledge of the Finance business architecture and strong stakeholder skills ensure all stakeholders maintain alignment with the overall Finance architecture and strategy, fostering shared understanding and ownership. You will be a key liaison between technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating complex architecture and design concepts into clear, actionable business insights whilst providing guidance, mentorship, and coaching to a team of domain architects.

What are we looking for?

  • Recognised thought leader in Enterprise Architecture, capable of painting a compelling image of future business capabilities and how new technologies could meet the requirements.
  • Ability to translate complex architecture concepts and designs to build the roadmap for change with big picture thinking and focus.
  • Strong understanding of business processes, organizational structures, and information flows.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing business architecture teams within a complex financial services organisation.
  • Skilled in architecture governance using enterprise architecture artifacts, including principles, policies, views, viewpoints, building blocks, and guardrails.
  • Proven practical approach in supporting the business to achieve its vision and targeted outcomes through innovative IT solutions.
  • Energy and passion for Business Process and Data Architecture and the opportunities this can drive for an organisation.
  • Knowledge of the Finance regulatory requirements within Financial services.
  • Knowledge of IT platforms utilised to support Finance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, negotiate with vendors, and challenge the status quo.
