About the Finance Data Centre of Excellence

The Finance Data Centre of Excellence is part of our Financial Control team within the broader Finance team, which includes professionals in business partnering, financial control, and taxation. As a Finance Data Lead, you will report to the Head of Finance Systems & Data Governance, overseeing our Enterprise Resource Planning systems (ERP). The Centre of Excellence manages data architecture, data policies, controls, and remediation activities identified through monitoring. Our shared services division, Integrated Services, supports reporting and process execution.

Your role

You will play a key role in a high-profile, multi-year project to replace PwC UK’s ERP systems. Your responsibilities include managing the data aspects of this transition, participating in design and execution phases, and developing a network of key relationships across the business and Integrated Services, establishing yourself as a finance data management expert.

What your days will look like:

  • Creating and overseeing Finance’s Data Strategy, including data discovery, transformation, cleansing, migration, controls, risk management, reconciliation, destruction, and governance.
  • Designing and maintaining the Finance Data Architecture, following master data management principles.
  • Collaborating with firmwide Data Management SMEs and the Chief Data Officer to stay compliant with laws and regulations, providing guidance to Finance teams.
  • Acting as an escalation point for data quality, security, and interaction issues, driving resolution.

This role is for you if:

  • You have extensive experience within a finance function.
  • A finance qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or an international equivalent is desirable; candidates with equivalent work experience will also be considered, including international candidates qualifying through experience in their home country.
  • You possess excellent organizational skills and the ability to lead multiple workstreams and stakeholders to meet deadlines, with effective communication skills.
  • You have expert knowledge of Finance Data and its impact on critical business decisions.
  • You have previous team management experience, as you will lead a team and set its direction.
  • You are experienced in data management fundamentals, data quality processes, and data profiling, capable of identifying and resolving data quality issues.
  • You have expertise in data analysis, cleansing routines, and root-cause analysis to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
  • You possess a strong understanding of business requirements management, data quality software, performance management, and risk management.
