As a Finance Associate, you’ll play a key role in managing credit control and the purchase ledger, ensuring financial accuracy and supporting strategic decision-making. Your responsibilities will be a mix of transactional and analytical tasks, allowing you to develop a well-rounded financial skill set while contributing to the organisation’s success. You will drive business continuity and deliver the best service to their customer base across diverse regions.

Key Responsibilities:

Credit Control:

  • Evaluate customer credit status and set appropriate credit limits, managing outstanding debt and ensuring timely payments.
  • Maintain customer accounts to prevent unnecessary payment delays and where necessary, issue credit notes and re-invoices.
  • Process and allocate daily bank payments.

Accounts Payable:

  • Communicate with suppliers to process invoices and resolve queries and perform monthly supplier statement reconciliations.
  • Ensure timely approval and processing of supplier payments in line with company policies, investigating and resolving outstanding creditor items.

Financial Analysis & Reporting:

  • Assist in financial data analysis to identify trends and support decision-making.
  • Contribute to budget preparation and forecasting and support financial reporting by ensuring accuracy in transactions and reconciliations.

Risk & Cash Flow Management:

  • Identify and assess financial risks, recommending proactive mitigation strategies.
  • Assist in managing cash flow to ensure financial stability.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to enhance financial controls and efficiencies.

Annual Responsibilities:

  • Assist with financial audit preparation and participate in audit processes.

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in a Finance Associate or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, bookkeeping, costing, and the business environment.
  • Professional accounting qualifications such as ACCA or CIMA (or working towards certification).
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders professionally and persistently.
  • Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in financial reporting and transactions.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Competency in accounting-based software, CRM systems and MS Office, including Excel.
