Friendly and considerate young family currently living near Angel tube station are looking for an experienced nanny / nanny-educator to care for their son who is currently 4 months old. This is a full time, predominantly sole charge position. Nanny should start any time between 1st May and 1st August 2025 and stay long term - years!
Childcare Duties
- Manage daily routines including dressing, feeding, naps, and play
- Plan and supervise enriching, age-appropriate activities and outings
- Organise playdates, local classes, and visits to parks or museums
- Support transitions such as starting nursery (when time comes) and toilet training
Child-Related Household Tasks
- Prepare healthy meals and snacks for the child
- Keep play areas and the child’s room clean and organised
- Do the child’s laundry and maintain clothing
- Ensure toys and equipment are clean and well-stocked
Developmental Support
- Encourage development through reading, music, storytelling, and play
- Support language development, social skills, and emotional growth
- Foster a curious and engaged approach to learning
Parental Communication
- Provide regular updates on the child’s activities, progress, and wellbeing
- Collaborate with parents on routines, boundaries, and developmental goals
Schedule
Monday to Friday, 8am - 6pm, 50 hours p/w. Optionally, there is the opportunity to undertake occasional evening and weekend babysitting (paid extra).
Travel
Nanny can travel with the family if they wish - occasional travel with the family (approx. 3 times per year for up to two weeks – mostly Europe).
Requirements
- Nanny who focuses on child's development and actively encourages learning of skills
- Fluent English speaker (fluent in German would be a nice to have)
- Experienced nanny with at least 1 or 2 years experience with babies of this age (5-6m)
- Up to date Enhanced DBS (on the DBS update service)
- Recent Paediatric First Aid certificate
- Right to work in UK (this requires a digital ID check £3.50 - legal requirement)
- Live in London
- Good references for recent and relevant nanny work
