Job Description:
What You’ll be Doing
- Line managing up to 20 engineers, setting objectives and creating suitable Personal Development Plans.
- Through mentoring and coaching ensuring engineers and teams are high-performing, consistently and iteratively delivering high-impact, high quality work.
- Continuously assess your team’s approach and process maturity (with suitable techniques and metrics), and coach them to adopt and adapt Agile methods for successful and sustainable delivery.
- Partner with leaders and teams across ASOS to share your knowledge and drive organisational change and improvement.
- Ensure your engineers have the relevant skills (via training, coaching etc.) to deliver business priorities.
- Identify trends and concerns amongst engineers and engineering teams and directly address them.
- Help attract and recruit the best engineering talent.

- Build a high performing, diverse group of engineers who have the technical and personal skills and knowledge to deliver the business priorities.
- Your team all have clear career goals and development plans that are being actively used.
- You have a strong relationship with delivery teams and understand what they are focusing on.

Qualifications
Who We’d Like to Meet
- A proven track record and passion for developing and growing people.
- Demonstrable experience in leading, managing and coaching engineers.
- Experience working across multiple business areas, building relationships with key stakeholders.
- An advanced understanding of the fundamentals of Software Engineering, Agile methodologies and frameworks.
- Experience acting in a role such as Agile Delivery Manager, Engineering Manager, Development Manager or ScrumMaster.
- Familiarity with using data to help with problem solving, influencing people and creating meaningful change, but the trust in yourself to make quick decisions when needed.
