Job Description:
Emotional Health and Wellbeing Service Manager – Leeds TIME
Permanent position with a provisional end date for funding of 31st March 2027.
Leeds TIME is a new emotional wellbeing support space for young people living and studying in Leeds. It aims to empower young people to take time for themselves.
Support hours are flexible, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, to meet community needs, with prior agreement.
Do you want to support a team working with children and young people with emotional, behavioural, and mental health difficulties?
The post holder will lead Leeds TIME, ensuring risk management and the ability to handle challenging situations, working in partnership with CCG/ICS, Children & Young People Mental Health services, Police, Children’s Social Care, and other providers.
Services include drop-in sessions for young people to meet trained staff one-to-one, with no waiting lists, requiring quick relationship-building, risk identification, and support processing.
Structured one-to-one sessions may also be offered when appropriate.
Key skills include acting creatively, managing diverse teams, using IT effectively, applying therapeutic models, and coordinating work patterns including on-call rotas.
Work-based knowledge should include understanding of mental health issues in children and young people, NHS pathways, access issues for hard-to-reach youth, and local mental health agencies.
Qualifications required are in leadership or management, and relevant professional qualifications in health, social care, or youth work.
The Children’s Society supports thousands of young people through local services and campaigns for better laws and policies for children’s safety and happiness.
We encourage applications from diverse backgrounds, especially Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic communities.
We are committed to safeguarding children and young people. All posts are subject to safer recruitment, including criminal record checks and vetting.
Applicants for Youth Impact roles must complete an “Employment history_template” before interview.
The vacancy closes at midnight on 7th September 2024. Applications received after 14 days may close from 23rd August.
