Matchtech are looking for an Electrical Project Manager to work on a long term contract basis, which is outside IR35, with a strong background in CMS, cabling and quality assurance in the power/energy industry.

Introduction:

Our client, a leading construction company specialising in energy projects, is currently seeking an Electrical Project Manager for an Energy From Waste project in the West Midlands. As the Electrical Project Manager, you will play a key role in managing the electrical engineering aspects of the project, ensuring the successful delivery of electrical distribution systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee and manage the electrical engineering activities within the Energy From Waste project.
  2. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective delivery of electrical distribution systems.
  3. Provide technical expertise and guidance on electrical engineering issues.
  4. Monitor progress, identify any potential risks or delays, and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
  5. Manage and mentor a team of electrical engineers and technicians.
  6. Ensure compliance with all relevant safety standards and regulations.
  7. Document and maintain accurate records of electrical engineering activities.
  8. Conduct regular inspections and quality checks to ensure work meets project specifications.

Job Requirements:

  1. Significant experience in electrical engineering, particularly in the construction industry.
  2. Strong background in CMS, cabling, testing and quality assurance.
  3. Good experience in managing complex electrical engineering projects.
  4. Strong understanding of electrical distribution systems.
  5. Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  6. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  7. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  8. Good understanding of contractual responsibilities and commercial acumen.
  9. Qualifications in electrical engineering or a related field.
  10. Knowledge of applicable safety standards and regulations.
  11. Backgrounds in data centres, hospitals, heavy industrial, power station, National Grid and potentially rail will be considered.
