We are working exclusively with a prominent player in the rolling stock industry who are looking for an additional Duty Control Manager based in Derby. My client specialises in the movement of rolling stock for rolling stock companies and train operating companies, as well as locomotive spot hire services and the operation of charter trains. They have pioneered and own one of the UK’s most advanced locomotive fleets, currently being delivered and tested for this first-in-class locomotive in the UK. Their new locomotives are state-of-the-art, tri-mode locomotives featuring a range of new and revolutionary technology.
This Duty Control Manager role presents an outstanding opportunity for a rail operations candidate with a background in a rail control office environment.
Responsibilities of the Duty Control Manager include:
- Overall responsibility for the safety, operation, and performance of the train plan on all shifts.
- Clearly communicating timescales to facilitate safe and efficient train operations.
- Reporting and recording incidents, accidents, and environmental occurrences professionally and efficiently, informing appropriate parties within the correct timescales in accordance with company procedures.
- Managing all aspects of the train operations plan, including staff and resource issues, to ensure successful completion of work during their shift.
- Recording and logging all work undertaken in real-time to an appropriate standard.
- Managing personnel on their shift regarding short-term changes, sickness, and exceedances.
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years’ experience within railway operations, preferably within a railway Control Office environment. Our client offers a rewarding position within a stimulating, commercially focused environment, working for a thriving and ethical company.
