Desktop Engineer

An international bank is looking for a Desktop Engineer to join their Windows 11 rollout project.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Create and document a standard desktop image for Windows 11
2. Unbox and set-up new PCs
3. Ensure proper installation of software, drivers, and updates
4. Ensure efficient Windows 11 roll-out to all devices
5. Track, investigate and resolve issues related to the Windows 11 rollout
6. Liaise with business users to ensure a smooth desktop migration

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

1. Strong knowledge of Windows desktop operating systems and experience working in the Financial industry
2. Advanced scripting skills (VBScript, PowerShell, batch)
3. Good understanding of desktop deployment and management tools (SCCM/MDT)
4. Strong troubleshooting skills (procmon, performance monitor)
5. Familiar with Azure hybrid joined devices
6. Good understanding of networking concepts, DNS, DHCP, VLAN’s, ACL’s
7. Great organisational and time management skills
8. Excellent communication skills
9. Demonstrable ability to innovate, support change and problem solve
10. Happy to get their hands dirty (unboxing, racking, installing PC’s if required)
