The Deputy Group Financial Controller reports to the Group Financial Controller, manages a team of four, and is a key member of the high-profile Group Reporting Team. This role offers a balance of working from the office (5 Howick Place, Victoria) and from home.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Delivering a robust monthly group consolidation to support internal reporting using SAP FC.
- Leading the Group Reporting Team in preparing, approving, and delivering financial sections of Half Year and Year-end external reports.
- Liaising with external auditors.
- Leading financial accounting aspects of M&A transactions, coordinating work with SSC teams, and managing acquisition accounting activities.
- Managing legal entity restructurings within the group, coordinating with Group Tax and SSCs.
- Supporting IFRS application across the Group, providing technical guidance.
- Ensuring compliance with IFRS and FRC guidance.
- Developing the Group Accounting Policy manual and providing technical guidance.
Qualifications Job Requirements include:
- Recognised professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA or ACCA), preferably from a Big 4 firm.
- Strong IFRS technical experience, including M&A accounting.
- Several years of experience in audit and large-listed companies.
- Leadership and team management skills in dynamic environments.
- Project management experience.
