An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Platform Specialist within a forward thinking and collaborative team. As a Platform Specialist specialising in IBM Planning Analytics, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-level financial planning and business intelligence solutions. You will work in a close-knit team of developers and business analysts to design and build solutions that meet client requirements using IBM Planning Analytics/TM1. This role will allow you to gain hands-on experience with this powerful tool, hone your programming skills, and develop a deep understanding of financial modelling and performance management.

A bit about the job: Within the role you will undertake:

  • Assist in the design, development, and implementation of financial planning models using IBM Planning Analytics (TM1).
  • Develop custom scripts and processes to automate data integration and transformation tasks.
  • Contribute to the development of multidimensional OLAP cubes, reports, and dashboards.
  • Produce estimates and agree backlog priorities for application changes with the business as part of an Agile delivery cycle.
  • Monitor application availability, capacity, and performance.
  • Support the application and testing of Planning Analytics (TM1) patching and upgrades.
  • Participate in testing processes to ensure the accuracy and reliability of solutions.
  • Assist in debugging and resolving issues in existing models and applications.
  • Provide support to end-users by troubleshooting issues and providing solutions.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for developed solutions and processes.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest features and best practices of IBM Planning Analytics.
  • Engage in continuous learning to improve your knowledge of software development, financial systems, and business intelligence.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Experience of working with business teams to enhance and evolve financial models.
  • Proficiency in a variety of programming languages or data science tools beneficial such as Python, SQL, or Java.
  • Experience of working directly with business teams to analyse and understand their requirements.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence to challenge the status quo.
  • Familiarity with TM1 structures and rules and TM1 Turbo integrator ETL processes as well as multidimensional databases and OLAP concepts.

  • Salary: Circa £33,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
  • Bonus opportunity: 8% of annual salary (actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s).
