We are looking for a highly skilled Data Modeler to join our team. The Data Modeler will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining data models to support the organization's data analytics and business intelligence needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of data modeling principles and techniques, and be able to translate business requirements into effective data models.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Modeling: Design and develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models. Create and maintain data dictionaries and metadata repositories. Ensure data models are aligned with business requirements and objectives.
- Database Design: Collaborate with database administrators to implement and optimize data models. Develop and maintain database schemas, tables, views, and indexes. Ensure data integrity and quality through effective database design.
- Data Analysis: Analyze data requirements and assess data sources to support data modeling efforts. Work with business analysts and stakeholders to gather and document data requirements. Perform data profiling and data quality assessments.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with data architects, data engineers, and other IT professionals to ensure data models are integrated and optimized. Communicate data modeling concepts and designs to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Provide guidance and support to development teams on data modeling best practices.
- Documentation and Standards: Develop and maintain documentation for data models, data flows, and data integration processes. Ensure data modeling standards and best practices are followed. Participate in data governance initiatives and contribute to data management policies.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Experience: Proven experience as a Data Modeler or in a similar role. Extensive experience with data modeling tools (e.g., ER/Studio, ERwin, PowerDesigner). Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MongoDB).
- Skills: Strong understanding of data modeling principles and techniques. Proficiency in SQL and database design. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Certifications: Data modeling certification (e.g., CDMP, DAMA) is a plus.
