Pay and Hours
Our Customer Delivery Driver rate of pay starts from £12.92 an hour; this increases to £14.05 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location. It’s our policy to offer new colleagues a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, with options for fewer hours (minimum 12). We schedule your hours within your available windows and provide 3 weeks’ notice of your shifts.
Customers are at the heart of everything we do. As the face of Tesco on the road, you’ll deliver to homes across the region. This role involves more than driving: it’s about helping customers and delivering great service with a smile. No two shifts are the same, and you’ll have support from managers and colleagues back at base.
Responsibilities include
- Ensuring the van and trays are clean and organized
- Keeping the delivery area tidy and picking up litter
- Washing trays as required
- Loading the van and checking its roadworthiness
- Communicating with customers about their orders and substitutions
- Handling products with care
- Informing customers about substitutions and charges
- Delivering within the scheduled time slot
- Calling customers before early arrivals
- Contacting the store if delayed by 30+ minutes
Requirements
