Our client, a prominent banking institution based in London, is seeking a highly skilled Credit Risk Analyst to join their team on a contract basis. This role is critical in supporting the bank’s risk management function, focusing on evaluating and mitigating credit risks across various portfolios.

As a key member of the risk team, the successful candidate will be responsible for conducting in-depth credit assessments, developing risk models, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Credit Risk Analysis : Perform thorough assessments of credit risk on borrowers, counterparties, and portfolios, ensuring the accurate evaluation of creditworthiness.
2. Risk Model Development : Design, validate, and refine credit risk models to forecast potential losses and assess risk exposures.
3. Monitoring & Reporting : Generate and deliver comprehensive credit risk reports while continuously monitoring exposure against established risk thresholds.
4. Stress Testing : Conduct stress tests and scenario analyses to identify potential vulnerabilities in the credit portfolio and assess the impact of adverse conditions.
5. Risk Mitigation : Develop and implement strategies to manage and mitigate credit risks, ensuring that all recommendations align with internal policies and regulatory standards.
6. Collaboration : Work closely with internal teams, including finance, portfolio management, and senior leadership, to ensure effective risk governance across the organisation.
7. Regulatory Adherence : Stay up to date with evolving credit risk regulations and ensure all risk activities comply with current regulatory requirements.

Key Requirements :

1. Proven experience in credit risk analysis within the banking sector
2. Strong understanding of credit risk modelling and assessment techniques
3. Knowledge of regulatory frameworks impacting credit risk (Basel III, IFRS 9)
4. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
