Our client is seeking an experienced Council Tax Officer to join their team. Working within the Revenues collection service, the officer will be responsible for assessing and collecting council tax, delivering effective, proactive, customer-focused collection services.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Working effectively as part of a team
  • Processing customer accounts, including initial account setup, maintenance, review, assessment of discounts, disregards, and exemptions
  • Managing payment arrangements, pre- and post-court work, and bailiff inquiries

The role requires adherence to statutory legislation and corporate policies. The post holder must be responsive to customer needs, engaging effectively with vulnerable and challenging customers while maximizing collection efforts.

Work arrangement: Hybrid working – 20% office-based, 80% home working.
