Controller of Site Safety (COSS) (Wales and Western Lines), Wales Client: RSS Infrastructure Location: Wales and Western Lines Job Category: Other EU work permit required: Yes Job Reference: 0d028e62655a Job Views: 2 Posted: 15.05.2025 Expiry Date: 29.06.2025 Job Description: Due to our continued growth and success, we are looking to recruit an experienced Controller of Site Safety (COSS) to join us on a long-term project working on the Wales and Western Line. The role requires willingness to travel and lodge due to the project\’s location. Responsibilities: Lead from the front in performing all duties and mentor new operatives. Ensure the health and safety of all workers are signed onto the Safe System of Work (SSOW) pack. Ensure all works are completed to high standards; escalate issues to the client supervisor and RSSI Rail Manager. Brief all workgroup members on the SSOW pack and ensure they sign the SSOW following the briefing. Record all close calls on the RSSI app. Report all non-attendance to the RSSI Resource Team or Out of Hours service. Ensure all staff wear full PPE, including face masks and goggles, during site access. Utilize hand-arm vibration sensors (HAVS) when operating small plant tools. Respond calmly and professionally to instructions and queries from RSSI clients and Rail Managers. Perform any other duties as requested by RSSI clients and management, provided they are safe. Candidate Requirements: In-date PTS with Track Induction. Qualified and competent Controller of Site Safety (COSS). Experience with small tools is desirable. Full UK driving licence.
