Locum Commercial Contracts and Procurement Lawyer

Up to £55 per hour (umbrella)

Local Authority based in London

3 months initially with the possibility of an extension thereafter

Full time, Hybrid Working

Venn Group is working with a fantastic local authority in London in their search for a Commercial Contracts and Procurement Lawyer on an Locum basis for an initial 3-month role (with the potential to be extended).

Requirements:

  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or legal executive with significant post-qualification experience
  • Proven experience in contract law, public procurement law and commercial
  • Ability to supervise a junior lawyer and manage complex commercial contract work
  • Strong communication skills and ability to negotiate and draft complex legal documentation

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Managing a substantial caseload of complex contract and procurement matters
  • Supervising a Contracts Lawyer and allocating appropriate work
  • Providing legal advice on a wide range of commercial contracts, procurement and contract claims
  • Assisting with contract-related legal advice for external service providers
