Job overview

Applications are invited for the post of Consultant in Rheumatology with a specialist interest in Psoriatic Arthritis (10PA\’s) at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, part of Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Main duties of the job

The appointee will undertake five rheumatology outpatient clinics per week. They will participate in educational activities, management audits, and teaching junior doctors and medical students. The service is planning a redesign to develop pathways spanning primary and secondary care, and the appointee will be encouraged to contribute. There is an active research portfolio and a clinical trials unit, with opportunities to participate in research, which can be negotiated separately.

Candidates must be fully registered with the GMC and ideally have a CCT in Rheumatology or be within six months of obtaining it at the time of interview. Applications are welcomed from those unable to work full-time or wishing to job-share.

All new Consultants will attend a five-day development programme within a year of joining, supporting leadership and management skill development.

The applicant must demonstrate effective communication skills in English, in line with GMC’s Good Medical Practice. Non-UK applicants must possess IELTS/OET certification before GMC licensing. Applications requiring skilled worker sponsorship are welcome and will be considered equally.
