Detailed job description
Part of the team responsible for the delivery of acute gastroenterology services together with 4 registrars, 1 CMT and 4 FY doctors.
Outpatient services for patients with gastroenterological disorders, based on clinic template in line with the Royal College guidelines (4 new and 8 follow-ups).
Inpatient services for patients with gastroenterological disorders, potentially with special reference to hepatology patients.
Inpatient management of some allocated general medical patients.
Developing liaison with appropriate other centres, i.e., the Royal Free and Hammersmith Hospital.
JD pending Royal College approval.

Essential criteria
- On GMC registered Medical Practitioner GMC specialist registration or within 6 months of CCT.
Desirable criteria
- MD, PhD or equivalent.
Knowledge and Expertise
Essential criteria
- Broad based training in gastroenterology, hepatology and endoscopic investigation.
- Broad based general professional training in general medicine.
Desirable criteria
- ERCP skills.
Management and Audit
Essential criteria
- Understanding the principles of clinical governance and its implications.
