Main Duties:
- Use computer-based systems for batching and dispatch of concrete.
- Communicate with customers both face-to-face and on the phone.
- Carry out routine maintenance.
- Supervise contractors and hauliers to ensure the safe and efficient running of the site in accordance with the Health & Safety at Work Act and Environmental Legislation.
Other Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that concrete produced is compliant with our quality scheme.
- Maintain housekeeping standards at the site.
Key Accountability:
- Liaise with the Order Office to ensure production meets customer requirements and to optimize output, quality, and standards in accordance with the Procedures Manual, Working Instructions, and Technical Instructions.
- Regularly inspect and ensure plant routine maintenance is adhered to, maintaining cleanliness of the plant mechanism, area, buildings, and equipment.
- Ensure waste disposals, water discharges, and dust emissions comply with Environmental Procedures.
- Ensure sufficient materials are available to meet production demands.
- Inspect incoming materials and conduct a visual stock check of all materials weekly.
- Ensure all employees, contractors, and visitors follow relevant safety instructions.
- Constantly appraise and review work methods and plant utilization to ensure optimal use of resources.
- Perform any other relevant duties as requested by Management.
- Effectively operate the batching plant to company standards and improve site presentation.
- Accurately batch concrete/mortar according to relevant procedures.
- Ensure the plant is adequately stocked with approved materials at all times.
- Visually check stocks weekly and verify monthly.
- Carry out routine maintenance and inspection for defects, recording actions accordingly.
- Report any defect or occurrence that may jeopardize health & safety, the environment, product quality, and service.
- Be familiar with and ensure compliance with policies on health & safety, environment, quality control, fraud prevention, and the Competition Act (RTP).
- Maintain cleanliness, tidiness, and safety of the site, plant, and associated buildings.
- Ensure security of the site, plant, and associated buildings.
- Seek advice from the Operations Manager on matters outside the scope of a Plant Supervisor's authority.
- Carry out additional duties as necessary.
- Receive customer enquiries and orders courteously, maintaining company image to the highest standard.
