Job Description Support the engineering of communication systems and/or associated supporting sub-systems to achieve overall mission system intent. This will be achieved under the direction of Communication Engineering Leads and guidance of the Engineering Programme Manager. Support engineering and system design delivery, collaborating with other SMEs. Contribute to technical interactions with the end customer. Generate detailed specifications, high-quality design documentation, and other technical deliverables. Work closely with peers to facilitate engineering changes to systems, ensuring adherence to processes. Participate in requirements management, justification, and decomposition, including the decomposition of interfaces and studies between systems, sub-systems, and functions. Support development, building, testing, and trialing of solutions, and participate in Validation, Verification, Test, and Acceptance activities. Assist Operational Engineering teams with in-service systems, troubleshoot technical faults, and manage problems. Qualifications Degree or HNC/HND or equivalent in Telecommunications or Electronic Engineering. A lower-level qualification may be acceptable with significant relevant experience in similar work. Essential Skills Solution creation and problem-solving aligned with customer requirements. Ability to adapt to a constantly changing environment. Team player with the ability to work independently. Self-management and workload management to ensure on-time delivery. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite. Desired Skills Knowledge of voice and data communication technologies and protocols such as SIP/RTP, ED-137, serial, IP, TDM. Experience with military communication systems. RF transmission and reception systems knowledge. Understanding of UK MoD security practices (JSP 604). Software and hardware integration experience. Lifecycle engineering experience, including System of Systems. Experience Minimum of 5 years (10 preferred) relevant experience. Experience or transferable knowledge from systems such as: Voice and data traffic handling. Network switching systems. VCCS (Voice Communications Control System). ICCS (Integrated Communications Control System). System development and engineering change application. Baseband technologies awareness. Pre-application Requirements Willingness to work at our clientβs site in Bristol or Harrogate, hybrid (75% site attendance). Must hold or be eligible to obtain SC clearance, with the ability to gain DV clearance. UK nationality required due to security restrictions. Willingness to travel occasionally to other sites.
