Job Description:

Our client is looking for an In-house Legal Counsel / Commercial Lawyer to join their highly regarded legal team. This is a varied role involving drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts and agreements. You will also be advising and assisting the business on a wide range of other legal matters.

The client is Berkshire based but offers flexibility with regards to hybrid working. The successful candidate would spend some time in Berkshire (costs covered by the company) in the first 1-3 months. After this period, the individual would work on a hybrid basis in their Glasgow office.

The key to the role is handling the day-to-day legal matters faced by the business. A candidate with a strong career track record in commercial contracts law is required.

The successful candidate will deal with various legal issues including:

• Drafting and negotiating a variety of commercial contracts and agreements
• Assisting the business with other legal matters
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to communicate legal issues effectively and influence stakeholders
• Ability to manage competing priorities and stakeholder expectations
• A UK qualified solicitor with 2 to 4 years PQE

In-house experience is desirable but not mandatory; private practice lawyers seeking to move in-house with strong business and commercial skills are also considered.

While 2-4 years PQE is the guideline, applications outside this range with relevant experience are welcome.
