Your new role
As our new Consultant , you will support projects confidently and embrace continuous learning to excel in your technical field. This role emphasizes innovation and fostering strong client relationships with clients committed to excellence in sustainability.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Preparing high-quality climate change and carbon reports to advise clients and project teams, supporting planning and EIA applications.
- Undertaking Whole Life Carbon Assessments and carbon management on projects in line with PAS2080:2023.
- Collaborating with client teams to identify opportunities for sustainable design, climate resilience measures, and carbon reduction initiatives, including hosting workshops and attending meetings.
- Working alongside our other services such as net zero projects and sustainability consulting.
- Serving as a positive team member, embodying Ramboll\’s values.
Examples of recent and ongoing projects include:
- Carbon baselining and management plans for infrastructure projects aligned with PAS2080, such as National Highways road projects and port infrastructure.
- EIA scoping reports and climate chapters for building and infrastructure planning, e.g., Birmingham Smithfield masterplan and Goodwood BMW factory.
- Supporting National Highways in implementing their Environmental Sustainability strategy and Net Zero highways plan.
- Carbon management and options assessments for infrastructure upgrades for the British Antarctic Survey.
- Carbon accounting, SBTi target setting, and decarbonisation strategies for private equity and manufacturing companies.

About you

Typically, you will have 2-3 years of experience in areas such as:
- Environmental planning, EIA, climate change, DCO, town or urban planning
- Knowledge of carbon and climate chapters for EIA reports and management plans
- Familiarity with carbon reporting standards like PAS 2080, IEMA Guidance
- Understanding of climate data and projections
- Numerical analysis experience (Excel, carbon accounting software, digital platforms)
- Report and presentation skills (Word, PowerPoint)
- Effective engagement and relationship-building skills
- Ability to communicate confidently with colleagues and clients
- Flexibility and willingness to learn across multiple workstreams
Additional experience that’s a plus includes:
- Supporting project management tasks
- Developing project case studies, templates, and proposals
- Sustainability strategies, LCAs, corporate reporting frameworks (e.g., CDP, TCFD), Science-Based Targets
- Energy auditing and regulation compliance
