Job overview

We are looking to recruit a Claims and Inquests Coordinator to join our legal services team. The successful applicant will join a busy department managing clinical negligence, employer liability, and public liability claims for which UCLH is a potential defendant, as well as inquests held for UCLH patients.

Applicants should have a degree or equivalent, with a legal or claims management qualification or currently studying towards one, and an understanding of clinical practices. Excellent teamwork, organizational, and communication skills, along with problem-solving abilities, are essential.

This role offers the opportunity to support a specialized team, handling claims and producing reports at a high level, including for Board-level discussions.

Note: This vacancy is advertised in accordance with the NHS pay rate effective from autumn 2024. If employment begins before the new pay scales are implemented, pay will be based on the 23/24 scales with backpay adjustments. More information is available at (URL).

Main duties of the job

This role provides a valuable opportunity for candidates interested in legal work to gain experience in claims processing and inquest management, including producing detailed reports for senior management. The ideal candidate will have substantial knowledge and experience in claims and inquests, and confidence in handling complex queries from courts, solicitors, and clinicians.

This position is office-based.
