Job Description:

Civil Engineer – Drainage required for our client that works across the UK out of their Design Office located outside Nottingham and a 5-minute walk from Beeston Centre Tram Stop. The Civil Engineer will be working for a leading engineering firm specializing in infrastructure development and civil engineering projects. If you are passionate about drainage design, well-versed in relevant software, and committed to adhering to regulatory standards, we encourage you to apply.

  • Utilize Infodrainage or Microdrainage software to develop comprehensive drainage designs and models.
  • Perform private network modeling and design for both foul and stormwater drainage systems.
  • Stay up-to-date with and ensure compliance with UK current Building Regulations related to drainage design.
  • Implement adoptable drainage solutions in accordance with Section 104 requirements.
  • Develop and incorporate Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SuDS) into project designs.
  • Act as a point of contact for construction queries from the project site, providing timely and effective solutions.
  • Apply value engineering principles to optimize drainage system designs and demonstrate commercial awareness in decision-making.
  • Mentor and manage junior team members.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in drainage design, ideally in a consultancy or engineering firm.
  • Proficiency with Infodrainage or Microdrainage software.
  • Strong knowledge of UK Building Regulations, particularly in the context of drainage.
  • Experience with adoptable drainage systems and Section 104 compliance.
  • Familiarity with SuDS drainage systems and their application.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to make cost-effective decisions.
