Looking for a job where no two days are ever the same? If you’ve got great people skills and fancy an outdoor job that will keep you fit, why not become a Civil Enforcement Officer?
Civil Enforcement Officers (CEOs) are, first and foremost, a uniformed point of contact for visitors and residents. They act as “ambassadors” for the council and frequently help with directions to local landmarks, answering a wide range of questions about the local area, as well as providing advice to the public on parking queries. The Team has invested in new handheld computers and electric vehicles and is committed to really improving the service offered to the public. This in turn offers the right individual the chance to really develop skills, confidence, and opportunities to further their career.
Our Civil Enforcement team plays a key part in ensuring our roads are safe and help to reduce congestion. Officers operate in the whole of Bristol, seven days a week including early mornings and late evenings, working outside in the fresh air and all weathers whilst talking to people and improving their fitness and health. Full uniform and protective clothing is provided; you must be willing to work in any location across Bristol.
Civil Enforcement Officers enforce parking and waiting restrictions on public roads as well as in our car parks. All staff in the service work as a team and provide support to help deliver events and parking suspensions, ensuring that Bristol is the place to live, work and visit. The main objectives of a CEO are to make sure that both on and off-street parking restrictions are observed and enforced in a fair, correct, and consistent manner.
Starting pay is currently ÂŁ24,702 – ÂŁ25,979 plus you’ll also get shift pay of ÂŁ3,596 per year.
