As we enhance our Product Management capabilities within our growing, integrated product ecosystem to deliver more value to small businesses, SumUp seeks a Chief of Staff to serve as a ‘right hand’ to our Chief Product Officer (CPO). The role’s purpose is to multiply the CPO function’s reach and effectiveness and elevate SumUp’s global Product Management chapter. This individual will implement best practices to boost operational efficiency, facilitate communication across various teams and levels, oversee strategic initiatives, and serve as a sounding board to the CPO. What you’ll do
- Work closely with the CPO, Product VPs, and PM Leads to coordinate product planning cycles, increasing cross-tribe alignment and visibility.
- Drive the planning and adoption of Product Management chapter initiatives—progression frameworks, PM Bootcamp, Buddy schemes, and other Learning and Development initiatives.
- Coordinate with the Global Engineering Core, CTO Office, Design, and Product Marketing chapters to improve collaboration.
- Lead and execute specific product development projects where additional PM leadership is needed.
- Collaborate with the CPO and Strategy and Corporate Development Office on M&A opportunities, including product due diligence.
- Work with the global Product community to define and track product success metrics, informing decision-making.
- Assist the CPO in meeting preparations, public presentations, and decision-making by providing research and insights.
- Represent the CPO in meetings and forums as needed.
- Contribute to team culture, external networking, and activities that enhance SumUp’s employer brand.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Strong product sense with a proven track record in product planning and development in software companies adopting industry best practices.
- Excellent project management skills.
- Ability to research, formulate positions, and craft compelling narratives on product topics.
- Experience working closely with engineering and design teams to develop joint processes.
- Exceptional written and stakeholder management skills.
- Proactive attitude, disciplined, and self-driven.
- Experience in FinTech or a regulated industry, or in a global, dynamic, multi-product tech environment, is preferred.
