About Our Client
Our client is a prominent and well-established financial services business based in the South East. The company has grown rapidly over the last decade under current management, leading to increased complexity and a demand for greater input and transparency from the finance function. They seek to appoint a highly commercial, dynamic, and ambitious Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join the Board and help take the company to the next stage of development. This individual will play a critical role in shaping financial strategy and ensuring robust financial management and controls.
Job Responsibilities
The CFO will be a board member managing the finance function, with responsibilities including:
- Financial Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement strategies to support growth and profitability, oversee planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, and provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and executive team.
- Financial Management and Reporting: Ensure accurate, timely financial reporting compliant with regulations, manage financial statements and forecasts, and monitor financial performance.
- Processes and Controls: Establish financial controls, ensure compliance, and lead process improvements for efficiency.
- Data Management: Oversee financial data integrity, implement data systems, and utilize analytics for decision-making.
- Leadership and Team Management: Lead and mentor the finance team, collaborate across departments, and represent the company to financial partners.
The Successful Candidate
Qualified accountant (preferably ACA) with significant experience in Financial Services, especially in specialised lending. Additional requirements include:
- Proven senior financial leadership experience, ideally as CFO in a boutique or mid-sized Financial Services firm.
- Experience with securitisation, funding, transactions (acquisitions, JVs, due diligence, exits).
- Strong knowledge of financial management, accounting principles, and regulations.
- Expertise in processes, controls, and data management.
- Excellent management and leadership skills.
