Our Winning Team:

As a Casual Youth Development Coach in the Manchester City Women FC Academy, you will support coaching for a Youth Development Phase age group, helping players maximize their potential through training sessions, MDT discussions, individual learning plans, and match days. You will work closely with other coaches and age groups to evolve MCWFC’s methodology and game model, supporting player development and progression towards the first team.

Your Impact:

  1. Assist and support an age group to develop players into MCWFC 1st team members, while promoting beautiful football.
  2. Design and implement training programs to facilitate smooth transition between age groups, aligned with the club’s football philosophy.
  3. Support the delivery of individual learning plans, considering all aspects of development: technical, tactical, physical, psychological, social, and behavioral.
  4. Identify individual skills and tailor coaching interventions to support player development along the pathway.
  5. Maintain high behavioral standards and team ethic through conflict resolution and player management.
  6. Comply with FA grassroots and PGA strategies, working cooperatively with staff and maintaining positive relationships with players’ families.
  7. Collaborate with coaching staff to deliver development sessions and games for U12 – EDS.
  8. Prepare and deliver classroom sessions to enhance learning through innovative and interactive methods.

Candidate Requirements:

  • UEFA B/A License or equivalent qualification.
  • Understanding of technical, tactical, physical, and social development.
  • Experience working with elite female players in an academy setting.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Current FA safeguarding certification.
  • Experience working with children and young people.
  • Knowledge of women’s football.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach.
  • Weekend availability.
  • Full driving license and access to a vehicle.
  • Futsal coaching qualification.
  • Teaching qualification.
  • Experience as a technical mastery coach with foundation age groups.
  • FA Youth Award and FA Advanced Youth Award.
  • Previous experience in a Category 1 academy structure.
