Job Role: Support Worker/Healthcare Assistant

The Support Worker / Healthcare Assistant will be expected to help and assist the team with daily routines including personal care and feeding.

The Healthcare Assistants / Support Workers must have at least 6 months of experience in care and possess a compassionate attitude.

Healthcare Assistants / Support Workers help with the daily care of patients, either in homes, hospitals, or in patients\’ own homes.

They are vital members of teams in hospitals, homes, and clinics.

As a Healthcare Assistant and Support Worker, you will work under nursing staff supervision, alongside other Healthcare Assistants.

Your duties may include:

• Helping patients with washing, showering, or dressing
• Assisting with meals and feeding
• Making and changing beds
• Turning patients to prevent pressure sores
• Talking to patients to reduce anxiety
• Helping patients move if difficult
• Assisting with toileting and collecting bedpans
• Maintaining cleanliness of wards or homes
• Managing supplies and equipment

Daily tasks may involve using mobility aids and escorting patients within hospitals. With experience, you may participate in training new healthcare assistants.
