The Medical Workforce team are looking for candidates who can demonstrate an understanding of how to deal with confidential and complex information while providing a calm and reassuring service. You will need to be able to communicate clearly, creatively, respectfully and collaboratively, with a wide range of people. A great teamwork ethic and a can-do attitude are a must.

Main duties of the job

You will be working within a niche environment with a supportive team, to facilitate Medical Staffing and to build integral relationships with our Doctors and Dentists on employment related matters.

You will be able to work on your own initiative; being able to creatively draw upon your experience to understand contractual employment matters and interpret effective outputs via systems administration. Your workload will include preparation of complex reports whilst also being able to maintain consistency of workflows for the Medical Workforce team.

You must be able to demonstrate:

  • Education to a Degree level in the relevant field of expertise, or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise
  • Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.) and ability to use other systems, as required.
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities, working under pressure to meet deadlines

Person specification

Qualifications

  • Educated to Degree level in relevant field of expertise or equivalent experience.
  • Project Management qualification e.g., Prince2 or evidence of extensive experience of successfully managing projects.
  • CIPD level 3 qualification with current membership.

Experience

  • Working with NHS Medical Staff (i.e., doctors) in an operational management capacity.
  • Experience working with medical contractual terms and conditions

Skills, Abilities and Knowledge

  • Possess excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to use other systems, as required.
  • Ability to deal with all issues sensitively and in a highly confidential manner.
  • Knowledge of Working Time Directive (WTD) and 2016 NHS Doctors and Dentists in Training (England) contract
  • Calm and methodical style of working
  • Team player and self-motivator
  • Flexible and pragmatic approach to work
